 Anti-collision: Supervision

Anti-collision information unit

Building on its experience with BIA2000 and 2001, SMIE launches a new generation of construction site supervisor systems for anti-collision protection of tower cranes.
A highly affordable comprehensive range meeting the various needs of construction sites.

How does it work?

The supervisor system is installed in the site office and connected to the anti-collision network. It provides construction site supervisory personnel with the information about all events related to crane operations (overrides, failures, free slew, interference, etc.), as well as other useful information, such as weather data, recording all this information in a database.

Besides local information, any authorized remote user, such as the company's offices or repair department, can access the SMIE supervisor system via the telephone network or the Internet from a desktop computer fitted with a modem in order to check construction site status and history.
At additional access levels, the SMIE supervisor system provide useful information for anti-collision system maintenance and repair.

Database access is protected by secret codes. At the first level, the following selections can be made:
1. Event start and end dates and times,
2. Cranes on which event information is desired,
3. Event types according to a list.

Lastly, the data manager can get an overview of the construction site and therefore a better overall picture of the situation.

The SMIE supervisor systems can connect to the anti-collision network by cable or wireless.

The product:

Creator of the first supervisors for anti-collision systems for construction cranes, SMIE will present the latest generation, the SGC240, at BAUMA. Its display and its ease of use offer many advantages to users, making it unique on the market.

SGC240

More functionality!

The SGC240 distinguishes between saddle jib cranes and luffing cranes.

Compatible with the SMIE AC243 anti-collision system with wireless or cable connection, it can monitor and log events for up to 20 cranes.

Display: The SGC240 displays, in real-time, information on the position of the machines as well as on the system overrides, the movement cuts due to interference, whether the crane is powered up or down and eventually any internal faults of the system.

Datalogger: All the events listed above are logged and time stamped onto a database.  The information can be exported as an Excel compatible file.

Access to the database is controlled by a password.

Easy configuration and consultation

The configuration is intuitive and is carried out in Web mode. The distances and dimensions are shown on the screen. The user is therefore aware, at all times, of the position of each crane.

The information can be consulted, depending on requirements, in several places on the site or by internet, always by internet. This allows the various actors of the site to follow the crane operations and to access technical information necessary for maintenance purposes.

More realism and conviviality

The graphical module integrated into the SGC240 allows the user to follow the crane operations intuitively through a display showing a representation of the jobsite seen from above. Each crane on site is represented by a different colour and the heights of the cranes are also shown as is the trolley movement and the slowdown angle of each crane.

The system displays the evolution of the machines and their various states (overrides, free-slewing, faults…) as well as their repercussion on the other cranes.  For more detail, a zoom function is available.

In order to increase the realism of the display, the cranes can be positioned on a photo of the site or on a site drawing.

Moreover if a cable is cut, the screen will immediately indicate which cranes are affected by this event.

Reliable and resistant

The SGC240 has a greater stability in the longterm due to improvements in operating conditions. Its tolerance to dusty atmospheres and a larger range in operating temperatures are amongst these improvements.

ts design and its compactness allow the SGC240 to integrate easily and harmoniously into the IT environments of jobsites.
