SMIE BG12 air-beacons for tower cranes


The air-beacons are necessary equipment for all job-sites next to:
• Airports,
• Heliports,
• Hospitals,

or other risk situations for which particular regulations are issued by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)

Chapter 6 of Annex 14 specifies the types of beacons and the installation constraints.

The SMIE BG12 air-beacon covers all recommendations of the ICAO.



The BG12 set comprises:


• 1 regulator unit:
- standard power supply 400V~ (others on request)
- 1 uninterrupted output for 24V= beacons
- 1 socket output for charging 24V= batteries

• 1 or more battery units, depending on the desired autonomy

• 3 beacons (or more)
The beacons comprise a low intensity red lamp giving a minimum of 10 candelas with a life time of 100’000 hours.

Each beacon is supplied with a universal fitting for easy fastening on any type of crane.


Simple and quick installation:


• For the beacons:
clamping on the jib, counter jib and crane-top.

• For the regulator/battery units:
hooking on any crane element.


On request, adaptation to any special application (uninterrupted power supply, obstacle beacons, etc.)

The SMIE BG12 sets for 36 and 72 hours* autonomy


The BG12 - 36 hours* set comprises:
• 1 Charging unit,
• 1 Battery unit,
• 2 Batteries,
• 3 Lamps 10 candelas 24V=


The BG12 - 72 hours* set comprises:
• 1 Charging unit,
• 2 Battery unit,
• 4 Batteries,
• 3 Lamps 10 candelas 24V=.


Important:

The charging time of the four batteries set is 24 hours with 3 lamps in operation at a temperature of 20° C.

The SMIE BG12 is completely flexible. It can combine at wish:
• Extra lamps
• Extra battery packs

Safety measures


The air beacon is disconnected by the crane main switch and by disconnecting of the batteries with the plugs in the Battery unit.

No element of the system is meant to be repaired by the user. In case the units are accessed by non authorised persons, SMIE declines any responsibility
